Pendragon Takes Home Three Awards!

Posted by Shannon and Sara Burns at 2:04 pm on May. 2, 2009.

“Best Family Film,” “Best Period Costume,” and “Best Young Actor” (Aaron Burns)

This past weekend, Pendragon team members Nathan and Lydia Aston (audio supervisor and composer) represented Burns Family Studios at the Bare Bones Film Festival in Muskogee, OK.

“Nathan and I had the honor to receive three awards on behalf of the Burns Family Studios yesterday and want to extend a heartfelt “congratulations” for some well-deserved recognition!”

Pendragon had been nominated for several awards – but Nathan and Lydia didn’t expect to take home three trophies!

“Festivals really give us a gives us a great opportunity to share Pendragon with other filmmakers and new audiences,” Aaron Burns later commented. “It is also encouraging to know that folks are enjoying our work—the film has been really well received everywhere we have taken it.”

Chad Burns also noted, “We were especially honored to receive the “Best Family Film” award. Our goal is to continue to use the action-adventure genera to inspire Christian families.”

Convention!

Posted by Shannon and Sara Burns at 11:50 am on Apr. 20, 2009.

This past weekend, we took Pendragon to the Midwest Homeschool Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio. We were very well received. Close to a third of the people who came to our booth had already heard of Pendragon. Everyone was excited to see that homeschoolers have made a Christian historical film.

Many Pendragon fans came by to let us know how much they had enjoyed the film.

Soundtrack Release Approaching

Posted by Shannon and Sara Burns at 7:52 pm on Feb. 21, 2009.

Many thanks to all the many people who have let us know how much they have enjoyed the Pendragon score! We have at long last begun remixing the Pendragon Soundtrack.  The soundtrack release will feature forty minutes of music, including soaring strains from the Dubrinian Markets, driving battle music from the Hillfort Attack, and lyrical melodies from the Mountains of Arfon. We are even hoping to include a special feature created just for the soundtrack CD—a new credit song. The credit song is currently being composed by a Pendragon cast member, but we’re keeping their name a surprise!  Check back on the Pendragon blog for updates on the song’s progress.

We plan to finish production on the Pendragon Soundtrack CD and have it available to all of you in roughly two months.

For members of the Pendragon Fan Club, we will soon have one free downloadable track available. Check back for updates!

Professor Terry Herald kindly agreed to conduct our orchestra for the recording.

Remembering Pendragon’s Greatest Saxon Warrior

Posted by Shannon and Sara Burns at 5:04 pm on Feb. 14, 2009.

After a difficult battle with cancer, Mr. Steve Burnham went to meet his Savior last night.  Mr. Burnham was one of our most faithful and dedicated extras, always willing and eager to help out on set or behind the scenes, often helping alongside his loving wife, Janet.  When he became unable to participate physically due to his illness, he continued to act as our pyrotechnics consultant, advising us as we created the fire effects for the final swordfight.  Throughout his illness, he never gave up in despair, but was a continual encouragement to others. He was greatly loved, and will be greatly missed.
