We arrived in
Muskegon yesterday afternoon for a two day shoot. It was good to be back in the hall where the filming began two years ago. We had a few scenes to film here, but Monday night we focused on the church scene. Six homeschool families played the part of the congregation.

Wow! What an incredible week this has been. We are ever thankful for the Lord’s continued blessing on this project. We have completed a rigorous week of a rotated schedule and intense, complicated filming, but the footage was definitely worth it. This week we are filming battles every night. Our clocks are completely turned around. Dusty, Morgan, and the two babies arrived late Monday night to join us.
Several British soldier extras have come over to help, and so far the filming has gone well.

Once again yesterday we filmed over twelve hours. Brian and Jeremy Ervin came over to act as generals. King Ambrosius has a new costume for this scene…it looks great!

This morning our family laid to rest our grandfather, Raymond Burns. We are all grateful to have been blessed with such a wonderful grandpa, but we grieve at this loss. This evening, we started filming in one of our most intricately designed sets ever! Last night, Nick and Aaron-the set designers-with the crew’s help began to transform the Northern Burns’ garage into a fifth century tent. This past weekend we traveled down to Indiana to shoot a battle scene. Thursday afternoon we arrived at the Atherton family’s home in southern Indiana. The girls stayed at the house while the boys stayed at the home of some friends of the Athertons. We spent Thursday evening preparing for Friday and Saturday’s filming.
