Saturday’s film shoot was great! This was the first scene that we filmed in the completed hill fort. Thirty extras played the part of the villagers and townspeople of Arfon. In the scene, Ambrosius, king of Arfon, is looking for recruits and leaders for his army. In order to qualify, they must be able to defeat the king’s champion swordsman. Several men take the challenge, but Artos is the only swordsman who is able to pass the test.
When we were ready to begin filming, the rain was pouring down, but just moments after Chad prayed, the rain stopped. Praise the Lord! Even though it was very muddy, we were able to film all that we had scheduled.
Four technical volunteers came out to help, two from Canada and two from New York! We were so blessed by their involvement in the project, and their helpfulness with the filming. We are also thankful for all of those who were praying for us, because we could clearly see God’s hand of blessing in all that went on.

Filming a scene

This past Tuesday we began our summer filming. For our first scene, we transformed our garage into King Ambrosius’ war tent. The tent had an authentic design taken from Roman army camps. It took several days to cut it out and sew it all together. After we finished putting it together, we tea dyed it; we are so thankful for the ladies that came out to help with this project! It turned out to be really neat, and it added so much to the scene. In this scene, a doctor is treating the wounded king when Artos comes to visit him. Mr. Paul Sauve was our doctor, and over all, we praise the Lord that the scene went so well.

Plunge back in time over 1500 years and meet the Saxons in a battle for your homeland. Enlist in the British army to preserve England, or join the horde of invading Saxons. We need men fifteen and up to come out and recreate a four hundred’s medieval battle. You will not want to miss this exciting event. Whether you are storming a fortress wall or meeting on the plains of England, this event is guaranteed to be fun and exciting. We have nearly enough extras for our Michigan battles, and we will be closing these dates soon, so sign up quickly if you plan to be involved.

This past weekend was an incredible answer to prayer! Over thirty people showed up to help sew and construct sets. Although we still have much more sewing to do, the village set is nearing completion. The village is a step back into time. The log wall surrounding the huts gives the scene a more realistic feeling. The wooden gates are flanked by two guard towers, making the hill fort even more impressive. Overall, we had a very productive and joyful time working with fellow believers to bring glory to God through a Christian film project.
