Today we finished packing up the lodge and reloading our vehicles. It was neat to watch the 411 A.D. British hall turned back into a twenty-first century park building. After everything was in place, we all went out to lunch together. Around the Pizza Hut table, we made a list of all the different ways we had seen God’s hand during the week. It was truly amazing how much God blessed this film shoot.

This afternoon Tim Quinlin returned for another day of filming. He is Ambrosius’s guard, who also works for Cadeyrn. He played his part well, and we were all thankful that he was so willing to drive the two and a half hours to get to the lodge to film.

I really felt like I didn’t get much more than ten minutes of sleep, although it was really six hours. We got up at eight o’clock and went to Jan Reahm’s church in Muskegon. Mr. Reahm told the congregation about the Pendragon Project and prayed for our group. Then he kindly offered to help raise funds for us.

Today started early for all of us, and when we got up it was still raining. There were many last minute touch-ups to be done before our extras arrived. Some of them had driven over nine hours to get here, but when they arrived, we were ready for them. God also sent Lydia Widdis, Esther Spilger, and Joy Camburn to help us. So many others donated time and effort, and we could not have done it without them. God stopped the rain just until we had finished the filming on the beach. Back in the hall Lydia was helping in the kitchen, and Aunt Mary was putting finishing touches on the decorations. The filming went great. God let everything flow so smoothly. We are all excited and so tired.

Today is my birthday, and Shannon and I have started to do the embroidery on Wenneveria’s purple dress, which she will wear in the hall scene Saturday. It is not hard to do, just very time consuming. Dad built a large fire in one of the stone fireplaces, and we have been working by it. Aunt Tracey and Lisa have spent most of the day shopping for the food for the feast tomorrow. Tomorrow—that sounds so scary. The hall looks good, but it’s not done. The costumes are almost organized, but not quite. The embroidery has not even worked its way around the neck, and the sleeves have to be done as well. YIKES!
This afternoon, Johnny Adkins showed up to get acquainted with us and with the camera he will be using tomorrow. He is going to run one of the cameras during the filming. Sometime later the Hill family arrived. Mr. Hill and David are helping with sound, and Mrs. Hill is very helpful in the kitchen. It has been raining since Wednesday, and we are praying that it will stop, so that we can do the filming tomorrow. It is now two o’clock in the morning, and Shannon, Lisa, and I are in the camper trying to finish the embroidery on the princess’s dress. I can hardly hold my eyes open any longer.

Today has been spent practicing filming, labeling costumes, and setting up the hall. Aunt Mary arrived at lunch time and brought an entire car full of props and period décor. It is really neat to watch the hall take shape under her guidance.

During the night the rain started to fall and the temperature dropped. The boys’ tent leaked horribly and they got soaked! We now have access to the lodge, so we are moving all the props out of our campers and into the lodge. Since the lodge has no heat, we have little space heaters plugged in at one end so that we can finish the sewing without our fingers freezing.

Our van is so full it’s a miracle our van even rolls. This morning Nick packed the camera in the last bit of room behind the middle seats. Things just will not stay organized. There are bags of costumes, coolers, duffle bags, pillows, and the end of a tripod leg spilling through the middle isle. We left later than planned this morning, but have thankfully made pretty good time.
The camera we rented for the weekend was here when we arrived. Alex and Peter, who arrived earlier, gave us a grand tour. By the time we moved into our camper, the Northern Burns had arrived. We spent the rest of the day organizing props and making a schedule for the coming week.

Today Dad and Peter left with a load of supplies. The camera dolly (which would not fit in the van) and the bedding completely filled the back of Dad’s truck. Tonight they will stop in Indiana at our Uncle Pat’s house, pick up Alex and travel the rest of the way to Pioneer Park tomorrow. At home we are busy packing the van. Even with all of Nick’s careful planning, the back is now full and the back seats have started to accumulate bags of costumes.
